I handmake every Urban Tails collar in my Surrey workshop with the same care, whether it's for everyday walks or celebrating life's special moments.

A collar isn't just something your dog wears on a walk. For many dogs, it's on from breakfast until bedtime, so getting the fit right matters just as much as choosing a fabric you love.

Every Dog Is Different... That's Why Handmade Matters

Every dog has a different build. Some have long, slender necks, while others have thick coats or broader frames. Even dogs of the same breed rarely fit exactly the same. Even dogs of the same breed can have different neck sizes, coat thicknesses, proportions and personalities. What suits one dog perfectly may not be the best choice for another.

That's one of the reasons every Urban Tails collar is handmade. If your dog is between sizes, has a particularly thick coat, a narrow head, or you're unsure which collar width or fastening would suit them best, I'm always happy to help.

Before You Order

How do I know which collar size to choose?

Each collar product page includes a size guide with adjustable neck measurements to help you choose the right size. If your dog is between sizes or you're still unsure, just get in touch before ordering and I'll be happy to help you choose the best option.

Can I customise my dog's collar?

Yes! Every Urban Tails collar is handmade, so many options can be customised. Depending on the design, you can choose different collar widths, fastening styles, hardware and even add embroidery to selected collars. If you have something specific in mind, just send me a message before ordering.

How should a dog collar fit?

A well-fitting collar should sit comfortably around your dog's neck without being too tight or too loose. You should be able to fit two fingers between the collar and your dog's neck, while making sure it can't easily slip over their head.

Can I order a matching set?

Absolutely! Many of my fabrics are available as matching leads, bows, bandanas and poo bag holders, so you can create a coordinated set for your dog.

How do I care for my fabric collar?

Most collars can be machine washed at 30°C inside a laundry bag to help protect the hardware. Leave them to air dry naturally and always inspect your dog's collar regularly for signs of wear before heading out on your next adventure.
