The Thistle Tartan Fabric Dog Collar takes a classic tartan and deepens it. Rich plum sits alongside dark green in a colour palette that feels grounded and considered. There’s a subtle nod to autumn in the tones, but the depth of colour makes it easy to wear all year round.

Made from durable poly-viscose fabric, this collar is slightly more hard wearing than standard cotton while still sitting comfortably against your dog’s neck.

Each collar is handmade in the UK in small batches, combining a strong webbing core with carefully interfaced fabric for comfort and everyday reliability.

Fit & Measuring Advice

For the best fit, measure your dog’s neck where the collar will naturally sit using a soft tape measure.

Once fitted, you should be able to comfortably fit two fingers between the collar and your dog’s neck.

If your dog falls towards the upper end of a size or you're unsure which option will be best, feel free to get in touch before ordering. I’m always happy to help advise on sizing.

Because Urban Tails collars are handmade in small batches, custom sizing may also be possible if your dog needs something slightly different.

Because each collar is cut and sewn individually, pattern placement may vary slightly, meaning every piece is unique.

Plastic clasp breaking load (manufacturer guidance):

• XS buckle: approx. 20kg
• Small & Medium buckles: approx. 55kg
• Large buckle: approx. 95kg

As a general guideline, many dog equipment manufacturers recommend choosing a buckle with a breaking load at least three times your dog’s weight.

These figures refer to the buckle strength only and are provided as guidance. As with all pet accessories, collars should be checked regularly for signs of wear.

Care Instructions

• Hand wash or machine wash at 30°C in a delicates bag
• Air dry only - do not tumble dry
• Avoid bleach or direct heat
• Check fabric, stitching and hardware regularly for wear
• Ensure the collar is fully dry before storing
